★★★★★★★★★★4.8 · 37 reviews · 2 hours · from $108

Fire cleansing in Lake Atitlan sacred caves, with Mayan calendar lessons, Eagle Rock views, and a short hike to a 200-foot waterfall.

“Participating in the fire ceremony was definitely a highlight. The ride on the chicken bus, the short, steep hike to the caves, the view of the lake. Everything was beautiful. But the ceremony was what made it truly special. Alex, a touching, empathetic, open, lovable man, deeply rooted in his culture and community, guided us with sensitivity through the individual stages of the ceremony and allowed us to become part of the culture. This is not touristy nonsense, but living culture. I am truly grateful for this experience. One tip: take sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty. My summer dress was not the best option.”
