“We had a great time, the drive was safe, rather slow and a timely pick up/drop off. Our guide Roberto was very nice and took care of the group. We had different fitness levels on the tour and had breaks every 15-20 minutes which made the main hike pretty easy. For the price of this tour, it’s the exact same thing as all other tours offer and we had a great time!”

“I absolutely loved our hike! We did the sunset hike so definitely bring a flash light. Our tour guide was amazing he made the hike enjoyable, was funny and personable, shared historical facts, and ensured everyone felt comfortable throughout. The hike itself wasn’t too bad, but be prepared for a lot of incline right from the start. I recommend getting a walking stick from the locals who sell them when you arrive. The views were beautiful! Overall, I would definitely recommend this hike.”

“I absolutely loved this tour!!! my first time riding an ATV. the guides were so fun and they were patient when I got myself stuck twice. the experience of riding ATVs through a lava field at the base of a volcano is a hell of a way to spend a Sunday. now I want to do more ATV tours. I absolutely would do another tour with this company. word of advice - don't forget sunscreen! I got a little burnt because you will be riding at a higher altitude.”

“The experience was fine but not great. Our driver arrived 30 min late and was in his phone- text and voice- much of both rides. Not ideal. Our guide was very nice but didn’t know English very well so we got less out of the experience than I expected to. The climbing path was pretty crowded with horses- beware if you have an allergy. The views were nice. All in all fine trip if you want to see a volcano up close and have time constraints.”

“We had an awesome experience hiking Pacaya Volcano! Our guides, Pedro and Melvin, were fantastic — super friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the group moving at an easy, comfortable pace. The hike itself was very manageable, and even though we didn’t use the horses, it was nice knowing they were available if needed. We rented hiking sticks which definitely helped on the steeper parts. At the top, we tried the famous volcano pizza. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but honestly a fun, once-in-a-lifetime thing and absolutely worth it. “Not for the faint of heart but definitely a must do experience. Getting to theophylline of the trail can be difficult especially if you like me are not an experienced hiker. But worth it at the end. There is also the option to rent a horse to take you up. So I would budget an extra 80-100 USD in case you cannot manage the 2-3 hour hike each way. Going down as you may imagine is definitely easier than going up. Make sure to pack a raincoat, sweater and hiking boots. Our guides Rudy and David did their best to take a slow pace but it was still quite challenging.…”

“The local tour folks grayline tours were great. Couple of things to give you the heads up: 1. There are walking sticks and horses available for a cost. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time so I could have brought extra cash. I rode a horse up as it was steeper than I expected and it was Q100 one way. I walked down. 2. The 'hot springs' are really thermal therapy. Meaning you start in a hot 109 degree pool and then move to a cold 75 degree pool etc. Just want people to understand that - I thought it was fun to try something new…”

“The tour was great - pickup was at their office and the hike was a medium level hike! the morning is where you see the volcano the best before the clouds set in so I recommend! I agree that the tour just drops you off the hot springs hotel but they left is with someone who told us what our lunch options were. Communication could be better but overall, this was a GREAT day!”

“Marvin was a very good tour guide through the volcano, and was very knowledgeable and informative. He made sure we were comfortable and allowed us plenty of rest stops while going up the volcano. The hike up is pretty hard but the hike down is easy and it is 100% worth it once you get to the top, and he even brought us marshmallows to roast in the volcano.”

“The hike was kind of challenging but great, the walking stick rental was $2 but worth every penny because I have a bad knee and I didn’t want to give up and ride a horse:) All uphill and not used to the altitude. The marshmallow roasting was a fun ending! After the hike we drove about 40 minutes to a fancy resort for the lunch, then went on the ‘thermal circuit’. We didn’t get much for instructions so ask questions! There were four small pools ranging from something like 75 to 105 F. Free smoothies too! It felt quite luxurious!
